• The Charles Austin Corn Memorial Foundation Scholarship


    The Charles Austin Corn Memorial Foundation was created in memory of Austin Corn, a beloved Brother of Alpha Tau Omega who passed May 24th, 2009.  At 23 years young, Austin was a man of character, family, and humility.  Austin achieved many accolades at every level and always carried a humble sense of self. 

     

    This Foundation has been established to embrace the memory of a loved and respected brother of the Alpha Tau Omega Community and the University of Tennessee.  A native of Hendersonville, TN, Austin embraced every moment of life and his family was always first priority.  As Austin’s memory lives on through every individual he touched, this scholarship is to embrace the values and character that Austin stood for.

     

    This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to an outstanding Greek male.  The applicant must be an Active Fraternity Member with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, advancing his education at the University of Tennessee, and maintain active involvement within his fraternity.  This scholarship will be directly paid to the individual’s fraternity to cover a portion of the members’ dues in the amount of $500 for the Fall or Spring semester.

     

    Qualified candidates will represent the values that Austin stood for and the legacy that he has left behind.  Nominees shall submit a resume detailing campus involvement, community service, and academic accolades.  Additionally, a 1,000 word essay should accompany the resume that depicts the financial need and advancement that this scholarship would provide.
