AlphaTauOmega

crestAlpha Tau Omega

Pi, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville

Alpha Tau Omega is one of the largest, oldest, and most respected national fraternities in America. ATO was first founded after the Civil War on September 11, 1865, and has been prominent on campuses nationwide ever since. A strong national base is simply the beginning. The Pi chapter of Alpha Tau Omega has established just as strong of a tradition of sustained excellence. Established in 1872, Alpha Tau Omega was the first fraternity on Tennessee’s campus. We were also the first house on Fraternity Row. Our house holds 44 brothers and is currently undergoing extensive two million dollar renovations. Although Alpha Tau Omega is a large fraternity, we continue to place our emphasis on maintaining a strong brotherhood. Our chapter is extremely active in every phase of campus life. We have a tremendous social schedule including sorority mixers, bands after each home football game, and our annual "Viking Week" in the spring. In addition, we have developed a strong tradition in All Campus Events and we are looking forward to All-Sing this fall with the ladies of Tri-Delta, as well as Carnicus in the spring. Alpha Tau Omega is much more than just a social fraternity. We have brothers participating in many areas of campus leadership, including ACE, Student Government Association, and the Student Alumni Association. Our fraternity also participates extensively in philanthropy projects in the community including such worthwhile groups as the Boys and Girls Club of Knoxville, the Jason Foundation, and Camp Koinonia. Through Alpha Tau Omega and participation in Greek life, our brothers have developed academically, become more involved in activities on campus and in the community, and have achieved unbreakable bonds of friendship. These bonds will last long after college. The Alpha Tau Omega experience is a complete one, providing a solid base for a successful college career, social development, and professional beginning.
