Pi Kappa Phi
Alpha Sigma, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville
The Alpha Sigma chapter of Pi Kappa Phi was chartered at the University of Tennessee in 1931. Chi Sigma Delta was founded in December, 1927, by a small group of students who had in mind that forming of a fraternity of national scope. On January 24, 1931, at the Farragut Hotel, Chi Sigma Delta became the Alpha Sigma chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. Twenty members were initiated into the chapter. Alpha Sigma became the 46th chapter that Pi Kappa Phi had chartered up to that point. Since our founding in 1931, Alpha Sigma has initiated over 1,100 brothers into our chapter. We have had brothers who were the SGA President, URHC President, IFC President, Orientation Leaders, UT Football Players, and members of other campus organizations. Alpha Sigma prides itself on its rich 70+ year history on campus.
