Delta Kappa, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville

Phi Kappa Tau Field Secretary F. Harrison "Buzz" Green recruited a nucleus of eight men during the week of September 22, 1968 on the University of Tennessee's Knoxville campus. A month later, nineteen men participated in the formal beginning of the colony. Less than three years later in January 1971, 30 colony members signed the Delta Kappa charter, making it Phi Kappa Tau's 106th chartered chapter, in the Heritage Room of the Carolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center.

National President Thomas L. Stennis II, and acting Executive Director William D. Jenkins were joined in the festivities by board of governors members Robert B. Bernhard, Cornell '59, Philip W. Hyatt, Auburn '54, and Joseph A. Setaro, Southern Mississippi '56. Delta Kappa president Gary Pack, Tennessee '71, accepted the newly signed charter at the installation banquet in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Since then, over 350 men have been initiated as brothers of the Delta Kappa chapter.
